Why should I choose Chettinad Lincoln International School for my child?
  • Chettinad Lincoln is a fully authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to children ages 3 to 12. We will be adding the Middle Years Programme (MYP), as well as the Diploma Programme (DP) in years to come.

What is ISS?

Chettinad Lincoln International School is managed by International Schools Services (ISS) and is part of the ISS Global Schools initiative. ISS is headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, USA, and has been a world leader in providing support to international schools around the globe for more than 60 years.

The ISS mission is to advance the quality of education for children in international schools by providing innovative services and solutions for learning communities and organizations throughout the world. ISS currently provides a wide range of services for more than 200 schools worldwide, and annually recruits more than 1,000 teachers to work in international schools.

ISS provides quality assurance and oversight, regular site visits, direct access to services and personal support to the Head of School from a team of experienced international educators in their home and regional offices. 

This expertise and support will ensure that Chettinad Lincoln provides a proven, research-based, world-class educational experience for all students and faculty, and leverages a unique network of talent and resources that benefit the school locally.

When should I submit an application for admission?

Applications are accepted throughout the school year. There is no set admissions deadline. However, because spaces may be limited in certain grades, families are encouraged to submit all required application documents and payments by February 1 for an August start date. Are there admissions restrictions based on nationality, country of origin, or passport?

Chettinad Lincoln welcomes all students, both expatriate and Indian nationals alike, in our diverse multicultural environment.

What is the maximum number of students in a classroom?

The maximum number of students in a classroom is twenty-four. For Nursery, Preschool, Lower and Upper Kindergarten, full classes will have two teachers and an assistant. 

Where do Chettinad Lincoln teachers come from?

Half of Chettinad Lincoln teachers are from the United States or other Western countries. Half are Indian nationals. The school’s leadership is from the United States.

What is the language of instruction?

All instruction is in English.

What are the school hours?

School starts at 8:30 a.m and ends at 3:15 p.m. Each Thursday, classes end at 2:30 p.m. in order to give our faculty and staff time for meetings and curriculum planning.

Nursery and Preschool students are released at 12:00 p.m. For an additional fee, daycare is offered for our Nursery and Preschool students from 12:00 - 3:15 p.m. (or 2:30 p.m. on Thursdays).

What happens after 3:15 p.m.?

Except for Thursdays, the school offers after school activities from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. for all students enrolled in Kindergarten and up.

Why is the Chettinad Lincoln school year (mid-August to mid-June) so different than the typical Indian school year?

In sync with the leading international schools around the world, Chettinad Lincoln follows a typical international school calendar.

Does Chettinad Lincoln offer transportation for students?

The school will arrange transportation upon request.

Are meals provided by the school?

Food service is available for purchase. Families may also provide their own healthy lunches and snacks.

Do you have boarding facilities?

Chettinad Lincoln is currently a school for day students. Boarding facilities are planned for construction in the future.  

Are there school uniforms?

School uniforms are not required for daily wear. However, one school uniform set is required for special events. Uniforms will be available from the school.

How is technology supported in the school? 

All classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards. Students have access to iPads and laptops.
